I also see tons of laughter, t-shirts drenched from the beach yoga and my kickbutt workouts, and when done, they are lying on the sand for a 5-10 minutes with the most serene expressions on their faces, just breathing, and simply appreciating the moment.

And Finally I envision Sunday, the last day of the weekend retreat, everyone smiling, exchanging information, thanking each other, and giving warm hugs and kisses. I feel that my mission for the retreat was completed; Everyone's expectations were met, their questions were clearly answered, and got even more than what they expected for their body, mind, and spirit.

As for me, I also learned a heck of a lot, had lots of fun, and enjoyed every single moment!

My"Truth or Dare??" Game at yesterday's Wellness Fair...

So..."Truth or Dare?" are the words I enthusiastically asked as the Employees of Biotest Pharmaceuticals walked in front of my booth at their wellness fair. Ha..some looked at me with a smile, others said "Huh", others histerically laughed - I'm sure this question brought back some devious and exciting childhood memories-, while a few others just said "oh no,no, none of the above"...

I loved and embraced all of their reactions and definitely had some fun with it!!

Above, is me and the WINNERS of my "Truth or Dare?" Challege. 6 of them got my Get Fit in 6 V neck T-Shirts and The Grand Prize winner received a Gift Certificate of 1 hour Consultation, 1 hour personal training, Nutrition Plan and a $50 BONUS towards any of my personal training or group programs ($400 Value) !!!!!

Do you wanna know what my "Truth or Dare" Game Challenge is?

First off, it's engaging and makes you think outside the box! Secondly, it switches your mindset for a more positive outlook on exercise, health, nutrition, and fitness. And Third, "You think you know, but you have no idea!"...

Not to toot my own horn, but I had captured the most attention in comparison to the other booths that were present at the fair. Why? Because I made it fun! And that's the point!!

HMMM... now that I'm thinking about explaining to you what exactly my "Truth or Dare" Game Challenge is, how about this bright idea of mine instead-->Invite me to visit your company... click here-->http://getfitin6.com/contact.html ... talk to your HR manager or your Benefits and Recreation Manager!! You and your co-workers would have a blast, while at the same time gaining knowledge on how to be healthier, gain more confidence, fit better in your work clothes, and avoid getting sick, going to doctors, and losing money because of it.

And hey if you are the owner of a company, you have the Advantage and Power to decide you want to make a positive change for your Company. Your employees would be so happy and believe it or not, probably work more efficiently that week. And later we would be able to discuss a Wellness Program that is suitable for your company so this can happen:

  • Enhanced recruitment and retention of healthy
    employees
    • Reduced health care costs
    • Decreased rates of illness and injuries
    • Reduced employee absenteeism
    • Improved employee relations and morale
    • Increased productivity

Here is another fact:

A U.S. Department of Health and Human Services report
in 2002 revealed that at work sites with physical activity
programs, employers have:

• Reduced healthcare costs by 20 to 55 %
• Reduced short-term sick leave by six to 32 %
• Increased productivity by two to 52 %

And if you don't live in South Florida, consider inviting either a wellness company or a personal trainer, a motivational speaker, nutritionist, a comedian, ...the possibilities are endless!

God, I love my job!!

I wish you lots of positive energy, love, and happiness!

Detox is OVER...I feel AMAZING!

Checking my email inbox and seeing people's great comments, and success stories about their Detox experience was what made writing about it and sharing it worth my while. That is why I LOVE what I do! (7lb loss by Deb: read comment on March 3rd blog, and other 6-10lb weight loss results -read Valentine's Detox Group blog comments below)

Gosh, I can only imagine what even greater results people could achieve if they also did my Online Getfitin6 program or my actual live class.

Congratulations to all that did it with me and thank you for your support!!

The hardest part of the detox for me was being in a social setting, while being sorrounded by wine, cheese, bread, and sweets. Other than that, it was an amazing experience.

I even discovered one very important thing: I can NOT have as much Manna Bread as I was having...It messes my stomach up! I had to cut back on it. I actually now realize that I am pretty intolerant to wheat.

After the detox, I began buying rice bread because it is yeast free, gluten free, and wheat free!!!
I know what you are thinking...it's a little extreme, I know. But I have that with almond cheese and it taste good to me! - which is all that matters. Most importantly, I'm listening to my body.

Brown rice and sweet potatoes also work well for me. I also found these snacks by Go Raw, that are amazing tasting and they are sprouted, organic, wheat free, gluten free, and yeast free. ( http://www.goraw.com/ ) However, I have to separate a serving into a little baggie because they are so good, I may eat the whole bag!

I don't eat more than 140 grams of carbohydrates daily. And many (probably 4 out of 7) days I will have no more than 80-90grams of carbs. 40-60 of those come from berries or fruit.

Please feel free to share your stories and write comments, it helps all of us!

Lots of Love,

Coach Yari

P.S. Check out the comment that I replied to Debi on Detox update Day 9. This is important information for AFTER detox is over.

Detox Update Day 9

I definitely feel I am detoxifying my body...however at the same time I am listening to it.

Day 7 of my detox, I felt my stomach a little raw, if you know what I mean. In other words extremely sensitive. I decided NOT to drink the pills which consisted of the laxative, milk thistle, and the fiber. The next day I felt better already. Like I have mentioned to you before, listen to YOUR Body! It doesn't matter what the instructions say, your body is a much better tool for knowing what you can and can not handle.

I do feel more energetic, lost 3 lbs, not that i needed to lose any, but it's just the way it is...and many of my students who decided to follow along with me have lost anywhere from 5-10 lbs thus far. You can read their comments on the "Valentine's Detox" blog. And some have even posted recipies.

But, make it through the Detox, even if it requires you just to remain eating clean without any pills at all. Stick to it. It's only 14 days of your life. Your body needs the detox from all the pollutants that our environment exposes us to, the foods you eat, unless of course you eat 100% organic all of the time, and even then, it isn't really 100% just because the label says "Certified Organic". Think of a detox as a tune up. Your vehicle cannot run optimally unless it's taken care of. I know I'm being a bit repetitive, but at times repetition is key in order to really grasp it.

If you still haven't started the detox, I posted it just 2 blogs below this one. It explains everything I'm doing there.

P.S. New Website is almost done...You are gonna love it! And from my website You will be able to go back and forth to my blog because they will be linked.
Alright, gotta hit the sack...
gotta get up early to train my peeps, take my probiotic as soon as I wake, meditate, eat breakfast and keep on rockin' and rollin'!
Lots of Love,
Coach

P.S.S. I went back on the pills tonight day 9 but now I decreased the amount of laxatives from 3 to 1. And the milk thistle I increased from 1 to 2, just cause that's what it said on the directions. And the fiber pills, I kept the same.

My Detox Update Day 1

After another long day of work (yes, I work Sundays sometimes too)of training my students and doing more changes on my upcoming Website, Finally, I am sitting down with my laptop, on my dark brown leather couch, in front of my television, watching the Oscars! (Wow, that was a long sentence)

I love the Oscars! Sitting feels great right now, I must say.

So I decided to write in between commercials about The Famous Detox Day in which over 70 people, which you could be one of them, are doing right along with me. (If you haven't read about it yet, you can take a look at it right below this blog.)

I thought the eating part was relatively easy, considering that I already eat really clean (has taken several years to be as extreme as I am), and my taste buds can handle things like Manna bread.

The only things I took out from my nutrition were:my dark chocolate, almond cheese, Olivio butter because they are all processed.

Two other things I changed were: my decision to not eat out at all during these next two weeks, along with making sure that EVERYTHING is Organic. Not that I don't eat organic, but at times I have bought Natural chicken, or conventional blueberries instead of organic.

I know that Organic cost so much more, but it is well worth it for the health of your body.

You wanna know what I ate today?

1. Manna Bread with 2 eggs and 1 Yolk...Green Tea 20 minutes after.
2. Go Raw Snack made with Organic Coconut, Organic Date, Organic Banana, and Organic Flax seeds
3. Salmon Sushi (8)with brown Rice and avocado and slices of ginger on top
4. Organic Steak seasoned with Sea Salt, Pepper and Olive oil and a side Organic baby Romain lettuce, pumpkin seeds, balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
5. Whey Protein Shake- Completely lactose free!

and ofcourse all my supplements throughout the day, and I also worked out in the morning for about 15 minutes.

My body feels awesome!!! No Stomach aches. And Full of energy still at this time.

I'm gonna' continue to watch the Oscars now,and actually, prepare for my Next 6 week Program that starts tomorrow, as well as plan out my meals for tomorrow!!

Just wanted to give you a little insight, and hopefully encouragement. My wish is to inspire as many people as possible to live a healthy life...Life is Awesome!

Lots of Love, Peace, and Happiness,

Coach Yari

P.S. Feel free to leave your comments...

My Valentine's Detox Group

This blog is dedicated to all those brave souls who are doing the Detox with me after the crazy amount of chocolate that was eaten, along with a little wine drinking both done over the Valentine's weekend (I'm guilty too! haha) This was mainly what struck me with the idea of doing a Complete Body Cleanse.

As I promised to my newsletter readers( www.getfitin6.com ) and those that opted to participate in doing this 14 day Detox with me, I have written out what I intend to do, how I intend to it, and which cleanse I will be using. You will read all about it in just a couple of paragraphs down below, but first I need to tell you why I am up and doing this so late on a Friday night.

What's crazy, is that it's 4 in the morning on a Friday and I'm trying to get this done for you... I had to go out around 10 pm because I had told a friend that I would be there to support an event they had. I didn't take my car, so I did not mean to stay out this late... So please excuse my bad grammar. and flow of this blog..I am writing as I am thinking right now.

As soon as I got home I got on the computer and started trying to figure out how I am supposed to email those that emailed me back...because there are 67 of you, I couldn't write an email one by one. I mean I could of, but surely you would have started your detox late because of the amount of time it would have taken me....

In any case I am so happy to be helping you all do a detox!!! So without further blah blah here it is! :

Yey!

Detox Time!!!

Here is the Detox that I am doing and I am glad you are gonna follow along with me! I do this about 1 to 2 times a year. My body is pretty clear on letting me know what is going on. I have become more and more aware of my body over the years, whether it is feeling tired, or my hip hurts, or I have a stomach ache. Your body says it all loud and clear, I believe the body is your unconscious mind-LISTEN TO YOUR BODY.

2 Great Books to Help you with Your Detox: (Optional, but Highly Recommended)

One Great Book You may want to invest in for understanding the messages your body is trying to give you is: You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay. I feel detoxing has also to do with mind and spirit, not just body.

The other very helpful book that which I will be using as my guide for this Particular Detox is The Detox Strategy, by Brenda Watson, C.N.C. with Leonard Smith M.D.

The reasons why I wanna detox are because
1. I always need to be as healthy as possible so i can help others do the same (practice what i preach)
2. I feel a extra tired lately and having lots of stomach discomfort...somethings not right!
3. I wanna get rid of my caffeine addiction which is partly due to me feeling tired.
4. I wanna feel My 100% self...full of life and energy
5. My sinuses!!!
6. I wanna look younger for longer!! Ha
7. Because I love life and want to enjoy it to the fullest!!

Overall Detoxing will help you:

Increase your energy levels (you may be tired due to toxins), help absorb nutrients properly, help get rid of that excess weight you've been holding on to, help you get rid of waste and toxins, help your organs take a break, help decelerate the aging process, Boost your immune system, cleanses urinary tract, benefits skin conditions, purifies the blood, helps decrease respiratory mucus, soothes bowel elimination, and help preserve vitality and overall health!

The Cleanse I bought

365 Whole Foods Brand-Complete Body Cleanse. (I saved $15 dolla, make me holla) It is the generic version of Enzymatica Whole Body Cleanse. This one in particular is very gentle on the system and it does not contain any powder mixtures, which i find kind of gross-just my personal opinion. This one in particular is 14 days. Ooops...I know I had mentioned 7 but I'm gonna do 14. So 14 it is my friends, You can do it! (In the Detox Strategy book, Brenda Watson recommends doing a total body basic cleanse first, which is for a period of 14 days.)

If you can't find that brand, another good one is Renew Life brand.

This is What I will be doing Saturday...and hopefully YOU Too! (along with filming the intro to my brand new site...yippee...hope i have the energy since its 420 am right now and filming is at 11)

1. Go buy the Cleanse at either Whole Foods or any other Natural Food Store.
Enzymatica or Whole Foods Brand
Renew Life
2. Go to Grocery Store and Stock up on the following foods (mainly Organically grown) and Supplements:

1. Vitamins and Minerals , Mine is from Juice Plus, or you can get other forms such as Alive or Country life (these vitamins are made from food so they are completely bioavailable by the body)

and an additional calcium and magnesium supplement for women and a magnesium supplement for men.

2. Protein: Eggs, Chicken, Turkey, Whey Protein (best one is from http://www.americanwhey.com/ it is completely free of lactose, very low on carbs and fat, and tastes like a milkshake with only adding ice and water!) or choose one free of lactose, wild fish (preferably salmon).

3. Krill or Fish oil caps(if allergic to fish chose flax seed caps)

4. Probiotic with all strands mine is Renew Life brand

5. A good Enzyme Supplement that digest carbs, fats, dairy, and protein...mine is Enzymedica brand

6. Green Formula or Super Food Pill form for me, I dislike powder.

7. Water!! Either Filtered or Distilled, avoid tap...and add lemon to your water( lemon is a natural stimulant to bile production and helps cleanse the kidneys) Drink half your body weight at least...if you exercise double that.

8. All sorts of green leafy veggies

9. Fruits low on glycemic index..I do mainly berries (blueberries, raspberries, ) but you can also do pears, peaches, plums.

10. Mana bread is ok...it is sprouted, yeast free and salt free.

11. Oatmeal is ok.

What to Avoid or minimize...
1. No beans, starchy veggies such as squash, yams, potatoes.
2. No coffee (if you are a coffee drinker ween yourself off of it with green tea)
3. No black teas either
4. No Dairy products (if you must include chose plain yogurt or cheeses such as goat or feta..use sparingly, no more than 1/2 cup)
5. No Soy except for in the form of tempeh, miso, or natto
6. No alcohol
7. No mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts (can cause gas and bloating)
8. No Sugar, artificial sweeteners, artificial colorings,
9. No Wheat

(I already eat like this pretty much, but it took several years.)

Certain Things You should know that have certainly helped me with my digestive issues...I had digestive issues since I was little. Doctors would recommend pills, but I knew there was a better way to get to the root of the problem...

1. Don't drink with your meals, wait at least 20 minutes because it does not help the digestion process
2. add lemon to your water as much as possible, it helps with normalizing your pH and helps with digestion
3. Take an enzyme right before your meals
4. Eat Slowly to help in your digestion
5. Eat Small Meals
6. Try to avoid as much as possible those items mentioned above
7. Exercise!!!

Wow...so much being covered....

Alright so here is my cleansing schedule More or less!

1. 745am (this is when I awake) Drink 12 oz small water bottle. Probiotic...oh and add lemon to the water
2. 800 am. Take 4 pills of Fiber blend with another glass of water...Meditate for 10 minutes.
3. 8;15 Eat breakfast: 2 slices of Mana bread 2 egg whites 1 yolk, 1/2 cup of blueberries..Take Enzyme, Fish oil, and multivitamin 8;45 Hot green tea

4. 10:30 Protein Shake with spinach(cant taste it), and greens supplement

These Kids WILL have Presents for Christmas!

What an amazing feeling, and I will certainly Do it again...is all I have to say!

It was last Saturday, December 13,when I volunteered to wrap some " treasure boxes" for some of the most underprivileged kids of Palm Beach and Broward Counties.

I was introduced to the "Treasure Box Project" by one of my Students, and the president of this Wonderful Non-Profit Organization. She is one of the worlds best Children's Entertainer (Suzy Hammer..I love her...what a sweetheart! )

The purpose of "The Treasure Box" is to bring these kids joy and happiness for Christmas by providing a beautifully, and artfully designed wrapped boxes filled with all kinds of toys. They would normally not receive anything-Can you imagine?!

When I arrived you could smell, taste, and hear the spirit of the holidays. I felt so happy to be there because I knew that with my help (along with lots of other volunteers) I could bring children the joy and excitement they deserve for Christmas.

The wrapping was done at a local community clubhouse in Delray Beach. In the entrance of the clubhouse there was a table with all the volunteers names on it, and two happy people eager to place it on your shirt. They pinned it on me, and asked if I wanted to wrap or stuff the boxes. I opted for the wrapping. As I got around the table and past the wall that was blocking all the action, I got even more excited seeing all sorts of people of all ages so active and dedicated, trying to get all 4,000 boxes filled, wrapped, and then boxed by the end of the day to soon be delivered for Christmas.
I must say i never thought I would have had as much fun as I did... I even brought other friends to help out too!

I almost forgot to mention...

Thank You, to those of you who have bought my book "The Cellulite Reduction Program: Getting Rid of the "Dimples of Doom"...For every book sold 10% goes to "The Treasure Box Project"...That is equal to 1 box, which means 1 more child is getting a Gift for the Holidays!!!

For More info you can go to http://www.treasureboxproject.org/ or if you would like to get in Shape and help the Treasure Box Project, You can go directly to my website and order one today! http://www.getfitin6.com/
Alright, gotta go back to work...on my new site, oh and I'm having a new photo shoot in January!!
Lots of Love,
Coach Yari
P.S. Go out and Volunteer for something, its one of the best feelings in the world to give back... I hadn't done anything like this before and now I want to do it every year!! You will feel awesome!
